Father's day

I did not know today was a father's day (really never bother...actually) until Aliah and Aiman gave me their greeting letters. I was touched by the words from both of them. Later in the afternoon wifey and the girls prepared the home-made cake. We had little celebration around 4pm with the cakes.

I plan to scan Aliah and Aiman letters and posted in here later. Watch this space...

Benut 12 - 14 June

We went to visit my parent in-laws in Benut. Its only Zai, Aiman, Aliah and myself. On 13 June - Saturday we went to Muar to attend Daud's sister wedding invitation.

At that Saturday morning, the bimmer e39 could not start just after she got washed in Benut. Luckily the kampung mechanic managed to solve the problem. Salutation to mechanic TAM as he successfully diagnose the symptoms systematically and found the culprit was a burnt fuse of the fuel pump. Even AAM mechanic could not pin point the problem. If not I had to get the bimmer towed to KL....maybe its time to look for E60.....

Vacation: Cameron Highland (CH)

I took a week leave from 8 June to 12 June - the week was a 2nd week of school break. We decided to go visit Cameron Highland from 8 June to 10 June 09. We stayed at 3-bedroom apartment at Parkview in Tanah Rata. Departed KL around 9am and arrived Tanah Rata 1pm. Exit N-S highway at Tapah, stopover at Lata Iskandar before reached Tanah Rata. During the stay visited many attractions including the tea plantation and strawberry farm. Wednesday morning we left CH through Simpang Pulai – nice scenery along the way to Simpang Pulai. We stopover to Kelly Castle located not far from Simpang Pulai before heading back to KL. Useful link to CH and Kelly Castle is here.

It was very enjoyable visit for the family and we had great fun. I think the last time we visited CH was 15 years ago when Asyraf and Hanis were still very young.

Neo and COSE

Took a day leave today, just to send NEO to Proton Service Center COSE in Shah Alam. Slotted time was 8.00am but arrived around 8.15am. Reception service quite efficient, within minute was attended to. Since the service is quite major- checking the aircon line for leakage and to replace the failed captor unit - I checked with the service attendant - Mr. Am on the guesstimate time needed to do the service. He could not guess but said it would be long...
I had my breakfast at COSE cafeteria and later requested for a cab to send me home.

At 5 pm got a sms message that Neo is ready to be collected. Luckily Asyraf at home, off we went to collect the NEO. Good thing - I pay nothing as it still under warranty. Next to set with Netstar to test the new Captor...

Aliah's chest pain and KPJ Kajang Specialist Hospital

Friday, I was running late at office and phone home for Farah to pick up Aliah at school. After reaching home at 9.30pm, Aliah complaining of backache and start crying. Wifey put some oilment on her back and she went to sleep. Around 1am she complaning of chest pain and I have no option but to send her for check-up. Around 1.30am we reach KPJ Kajang Center and she was attended to by a nurse first for check-up including Aliah's heart. She got all this wires attached to her chest and some results -sort of graph type came up on screen and got printed.
Later the doctor check her up, alhamdullilah she has not suffer any major complication. Probably she was too tired with school activities....So Saturday and Sunday would be observation days for Aliah and will be stuck at home....Poor Aiman...no fun this weekend..

Neo went for 10K KM service and Proton SC letdown

I was on leave today, just to send the NEO for servicing. The meter clock 8900km but decided to go for the 10K service since the last time she was service was on 3 Nov 2008.
Another major item was to check her aircon line as it was leaking and had affected the CAPTOR unit.
Arrived at 8.30am and immediately attended to. BUT upon knowing that there are aircon service need to be done, the service attendant politely informed me that they could not perform aircon check as the third party company they contracted out for the service had their contract not renewed. The only service center can do the air con check is at COSE (Center of Service Excellence) in Shah Alam. What a letdown by Proton but I have no choice but to book COSE an appointment. The service attendant booked for me a new appointment on next Tuesday 12 May 09 at COSE as that the only earliest slot available. Sometime I think I am at the mercy of Proton....At the end I only do the normal service at 10K KM...the aircon probably next week...another leave?

There goes my unproductive leave....

Captor checking and day trip to Genting

When I bought the NEO, she got installed with this gadget call CAPTOR. Captor in my NEO is RF based tracking system. It failed on recent test and I was to bring her for check-up at Netstar HQ in Batu Caves. It was discovered the aircon leak and the water had short curcuit the unit. Netstar claimed that this is Proton problem and I have to bring this up to Proton SC. Made appointment with Proton SC in Cheras (Desa Tun Razak) on Wednesday 6 May 09.

Since there are ample time and we have no other plan, we decided to visit Genting Highland...

Jog @ Lake Valley Park

1 May is public holiday - labour day. As planned at 5.30pm we went for a jog at Lake Valley Park @BTHO. The environment was peaceful with the oaccasional breeze of wind. The track is brand new and hopefully it will stay the same for the long time. Well let see the test of time, maintenance and the people attitude....

Aiman went for school visit @ Pusat Sains Negara

This morning we sent off Aiman who join his schoomate to visit Pusat Sains Negara @ Bukit Kiara. He surely happy one....

Breakfast at Lake Valley Park and Lunch at Delifrance The Mines

We had breakfast at the newly open restaurant at Lake Valley Park BTHO. Lake Valley Park is the new town center for BTHO. Brand new and in fact the restaurant is the only business open at the park at the moment. Since it still early in the morning, after breakfast visited the man-made lake and the children playground.
After that we went to The Mines shopping complex - it been quite awhile since we last visited it. Well quite a change - the mines has transformed to the better outlook. Best part on the top level, you can find outlets selling computers, handphone and other gadgets but of course it still not up to Low Yat standard.

Aiman and Aliah fun time today is at Metro Point Kajang.

New house for Hamsters

Two pair of hamsters were bought in Dec 08 for Aiman and Aliah. Since then two has died - one was drown while being bathe, the other was sudden death as we did not know how it happened. The one survived we supposed are both male as no babies were born since then.

Today we went to Metropoint shopping complex in Kajang to look for Hamster food. At the end we end up buying a new house for the hamsters in addition to their food and vitamins.

Estima's windscreen replaced

The windscreen got cracked sometime last year but no time to replace it. Only recently it being replaced - there are few options but I decided for the original glass and it cost bloody Rm2000 expensive. That the best quote that I have, others quoted around RM2200 to RM2800.

Balik kampung Benut 3Apr to 5Apr

During recent 1-week school break, we did not managed to balik kampung as everybody was busy. So decided to spend the weekend in Benut visiting my in-laws. Again Hanis and Farah had school related program and could not make it this time. Asyraf too could not make it as well. So Aiman, Aliah, Zaitun and myself started the journey after Maghrib prayers.
We return to KL on Sunday at 3.30pm from Benut and arrived KL around 7 pm. Return journey was filled with heavy rain along the highway. There were quite few road accidents that made traffic crawling for sometimes.

Cannot connect to outside world

For some reasons or other, the router refused to connect to the internet. Spent 4 hours from 9pm to 1am trouble shooting. The ADSL light was steady and tried re-program again again the router but to no avail.

Today after office hours (was on QHSE3 course this week) decided to buy a new wireless ADSL router+modem (where else if not Low Yat ma....). Was hopeful this will solve the problem but to my dismay it was the same. Gave up, called the streamyx helpline 1300888123 (from mobile) - if from land line just dial 100.

Surprise! surprise! you know what went wrong. My username was wrong...not on the name but the end part. The username shall be without the .com. Meaning username shall be like xyz@streamyx only not as xyz@streamyx.com - remember NO .com for username....When this was corrected...wallaaaa....I was again intouch with the outside world...

So, I have an extra wireless router+modem now.....The old one is D-Line G604T and the new one is Belkin....May be I will sell one on the mudah.com.my...Ada sapa sapa berminat?

Alamanda & V.I

It Sunday again....Wifey wanted to buy SKII at Parkson's Alamanda and Farah wanted to snap pictures of VI as part of her subject/project requirements. The most happy one of course Aiman and Aliah. We had lunch at Sushi King Alamanda and later around 3 pm went to VI. Took several pictures.....lucky enough just before the heavy shower that afternoon.

LC 135 - Servicing and Tyres changed

I had my workhorse LC135 motorcycle serviced and got the tyres changed as well. The rear tyre need change after exactly 1 year of ride which the speedometer clocked about 12500km. I changed with size of 90/80-17 for both rear and front tyres. The ori size for rear is 80/90 and front is 70/90. So the new tyres are bigger that the ori. The service and tyres burt about RM250 from my pocket. Tyres alone RM190.

Estima's battery kaput

Petang balik dari kerja nak pi kedai, start estima tapi no crank? Horn, lampu, signal semua OK. So suspect battery no power to crank the starter. Call mekanik kat rumah, dtg bawak test meter, sah bateri dah kaput.....bateri baru Varta (Yuasa??), MF, saiz 70, harga RM360 on 24.3.09, next to see how long this new battery will last...The kaput bateri (GP brand) lasted about 1.5 years.

Hari Kraf Kebangsaan 2009

Today we visited the National Craft Day 2009. The event is from 18 to 30 March at National Craft Center in Jalan Conlay KL.
There are many visitors and parking was hard but fortunately the management provide shuttle service from parking place to the venue.
There are lot of craft items for exhibition and for sale as well. We bought 2 pcs of kompang and few batik textiles. Woow...almost all items are quite expensive and one of the painting was on sale at RM5500. Well I believe only who appreciate the painting can appreciate the price for it.

The painting below (in between Aiman and Aliah) got a price tag of RM5500. Any taker anyone?

Backtrack 21.1.2009: Aliah birthday #7

21.1.2009 We celebrated Aliah birthday #7 at San Francisco Cafe Bangi. But the cakes was delayed by a day.....Kami doakan Aliah berjaya hidup didunia dan diakhirat. Amin.

Backtrack 5.1.2009: Aliah starts her schooling day

5.1.2009 Aliah started her formal schooling. She was placed in standard 1 Cempaka at BHTO. No crying for her, she was very happy to get to school. Standard 1 is on the afternoon session.
Well she has to attend religious school as well in morning session at Sekolah Agama An-Nur BTHO.

Backtrack - Haj Pilgrimage 1429 Hijrah

Alhamdulillah, wifey and I went to perform the pilgrimage from 5 Nov to 21 Dec 2008.
We were under Andalusia Travel & Tours package. Our group comprise of 160 people.
Departed KLIA on 5 Nov @3pm, flew with MH150, assigned #KT21.
MH150 was not a dedicated Haj flight - it was a commercial flight.
Arrived Jeddah around 7 pm local time.
First test: our luggage stuck for about 4 hours.
Departed Jeddah to Medina around 12 midnight on 3 busses. Plan was to stop over at one place for meal.
Second test: The bus we were in did not follow plan and went straight to Medina.
Arrived Medina around Subuh.
Hotel just a few step away from Masjid Nabawi.....what a feeling to see Masjid Nabawi on your own eyes.
We had our experiences in Mecca and Medina but it will take too much to write - I may share few of my own experiences if I got the times but below are few photos but anyone is welcome to visit the album here and here.
However 17 Nov 2008 will cherish in my mind as at 12.05am, I managed to kiss the Hajar Aswad and perform sholat sunat around the Kaabah.
